THE VALUE OF SYMBOLS

At the news of the Strasbourg ruling on the exposure of the crucifix in Italian schools, I came to throw a thank goodness! I wanted to write a note to explain why I agree with the decision I consider to be civil and respectful above all the value that believers should give as a symbol that represents all Christians.
I found in internet the following piece which clearly expresses my thought and then replied to make you participate.
The trivialization of a symbol

premise two things, not necessarily linked. The first is that not a believer. The second is that I find the ruling of the European Court of Human Rights against the obligation of the crucifix in a sign of civilization and legal culture. Again, to paraphrase the song of Berlusconi, I would say: "Fortunately, that Europe is." With these said, let I am surprised a bit 'of decomposed reaction of the Catholic hierarchy. For a Christian, should be crucified, even more than for an atheist like me, a symbol of sublime and terrible. Its trivialization as ornaments, confused with desks, a blackboard and other school furnishings, should be, that yes, a sacrilege. And the justification of the crucifix in schools as a mere habit, should sound good to the ears of Christians as a real bestemmia.Vietando the imposition of the Christ out of context, and its execution, the Strasbourg Court has recognized its full and awful dignity a religious symbol. That same dignity that the Church denies him defending the trivialization daily and obligatory.
